A message from Andrew Pawuk, President of Measure for Measure:
Dear Patrons of Measure for Measure,
I hope this message finds each of you healthy and doing well. As you may know, the situation with the COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus, is rapidly evolving in the United States. A state of emergency was declared late last night by the governor of Michigan. Doctors and public health experts are advising that we avoid large groups and travel to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The health risks, side effects, and seriousness of COVID-19 as described by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) has known morbid consequences for vulnerable populations with people are older age and those with a history of health issues. Some members of Measure for Measure and our patrons fit into this category.
I have been in close contact with Steve Lorenz and our executive board members since early this morning. We have also been in touch with our partners at FUMC and IMC. Both performances at FUMC Ann Arbor on Saturday and at IMC a week from Saturday are cancelled. EMU has cancelled on campus classes and have gone to e-learning. Because of these cancellations and in the interests of the safety, health, and well-being of everyone, Measure for Measure will be suspending rehearsal beginning this Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, April 5.
Please be aware, as the situation continues to evolve, there is a possibility that the suspension of rehearsals and concerts may be extended. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as they are available via email. We will sing again.
Your president,
Andrew Pawuk
